I’m a Semi-Finalist in the West Country Women’s Awards!

I’m thrilled (and honestly, a little bit stunned!) to share that I’ve been named a semi-finalist in the Best New Start-Up category at the West Country Women’s Awards 2025.

This wasn’t something I had planned or pursued. In fact, it all started with a quiet nomination from my sister, just her way of showing support for what I’ve been building with JEM Marketing. I didn’t expect it to go any further… but here we are!

Since launching JEM in June, it’s been a whirlwind. I left a high-pressure leadership role earlier this year after realising how much it was impacting my mental health, my confidence, and more importantly, my family life. As a single parent, I knew I needed to build something on my own terms. Something that allowed me to focus on what really matters, while still doing the work I love and making a meaningful impact.

JEM was born out of that clarity, a strategic marketing consultancy that helps businesses grow with direction, confidence, and commercial focus, without the cost or complexity of hiring full-time.

So far, it’s been fast-moving and incredibly rewarding. I’ve had the chance to support ambitious in-house teams, mentor a brilliant marketing manager at a leading holiday park, and show businesses how smart marketing can drive real, measurable growth - even with lean teams or limited resources.

And then I saw the list of fellow semi-finalists…

There are some seriously inspiring women in the running, building businesses, driving change, and making a real difference in the South West. To be named alongside them is an honour in itself.

Whether I make it to the finals or not, I already feel like I’ve won. Because this recognition? It’s a reminder that stepping out, starting over, and backing yourself, especially when it’s scary - is always worth it.

Thanks so much to everyone who’s supported me so far. And especially to my sister - who quietly entered me without saying a word.

What Sets JEM Apart?

Unlike traditional agencies or generic freelancers, I specialise in holiday park marketing - which means I understand the seasonality, the customer lifecycle, and the operational pressures these businesses face. I blend strategic thinking with hands-on support, helping businesses get clear on what works, what doesn’t, and where the growth really is.

Whether it’s launching new campaigns, reworking messaging, training internal teams, or mapping out a full growth strategy - I bring clarity, direction, and a calm commercial focus.

Inspired by Other Women in Business

When I saw the list of semi-finalists, I was genuinely in awe. The women in this year’s awards are building businesses, driving innovation, and making an incredible impact across the South West. To be named alongside them is a huge honour.

Whether I go through to the finals or not, this moment has reminded me why I do what I do - and how powerful it can be to back yourself, even when it feels scary.

Thanks to everyone who’s supported me so far. And a special thank you to my sister for entering me when I never would’ve done it myself.
